2010 Report: Team Sarcoma / Malaysia
Malaysia
Team Sarcoma Nature Walk
July 25th, 2010
Penang, Malaysia
About 75 participants joined us for this event, and the weather forecast was for cloudy skies. Minutes after our park guides arrived, we started the brief introduction to Team Sarcoma Malaysia, our objectives and our roles in society. Dr Liew from “Friends of The Penang Botanic Gardens” then started the tour and took the participants through the gardens, introducing newly discovered fauna. It was an educational tour! Participants asked questions on species and learned about plant families, reproduction, etc.
The walk was ended earlier than scheduled due to the sudden rain. We then had a personal sharing session with the participants. Ms Zeeda, a sarcoma survivor, graced us with her presence and the insights of her experiences battling sarcoma. Participants whom hadn’t heard of sarcoma were eager to know more, as sarcoma knows no borders. We ended the event with a bracelet purchase session and photography session. We are looking forward to the next event!
