2009 Report: Team Sarcoma / Northern California

Picnic for a Cure
July 25, 2009
Near Placerville, California

The 2nd annual Northern California Team Sarcoma was a great success! We had over 90 people participate in this year’s event and raised over $4,000 for sarcoma research. In addition, we had others who could not attend support our event by making a contribution to the cause. The picnic grounds at the Jack Russell Brewery worked wonderfully. We had a tumor piñata, corn hole tournament, raffle, band, BBQ, balls and bubbles for the kids, educational displays, squirt bottles and shade areas to stay cool.

We were privileged to have 4 sarcoma survivors attend our event along with a group from the Team Sarcoma/Team Sammie event held on July 18th. We were excited we have found an event location that works well for us and plan on holding our 3rd annual event there also. Team Sarcoma events are wonderful, local-grown events that can, and will, make a difference in the lives of those effected by sarcomas.
