Round Table Discussion: Sarcoma – A Forgotten Cancer
Friday, 19th June 2009 at 11:00
Zagreb, Croatia
As part of the Team Sarcoma Initiative, association “Za novi dan” (For a New Day) organizes round-table discussion on the subject “Sarcoma – A Forgotten Cancer.” The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of sarcoma-related problems. Dr. Davorin Herceg, sarcoma oncologist, will hold a presentation about sarcomas. Sarcoma patients will participate to show faces of sarcoma and to emphasize the fact that sarcomas are most common in children and young adults. Further, this event should highlight problems such as: there is no specialized sarcoma center in Croatia; new drugs are often expensive and unavailable; palliative care for sarcoma patients is not appropriate. An invitation letter has been sent to the media to support this event.
The event will be held at the Department of Oncology at the University Hospital Center Rebro and Medical School.
