The Grand Round was held on the 20th July at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. It was well attended with over 120 people in the audience and many standing in the aisles. This year the theme was the “challenge for chemotherapy in sarcoma management.” Dr. David Thomas and Dr. Jayesh Desai spoke widely on the topic and covered the epidemiology, molecular characteristics and genetic vulnerabilities of sarcoma which lend themselves to targeted therapy. The talks gave a cutting edge insight into the field of sarcoma management and the areas where basic science and clinical trials are making considerable in roads.
